Alejandro Leonhardt

Alejandro Leonhardt (Puerto Varas, Chile, 1985) is a visual artist whose research focuses on the waste and material vestiges produced by human activity. From these remnants, he develops proposals that move between sculpture and installation.

He studied Fine Arts at Universidad ARCIS (2009) and holds an MA in Visual Arts from the Universidad de Chile (2015). His work has been exhibited both individually and collectively in Chile and abroad, including at L21 Gallery (Spain), Galería Patricia Ready, and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Chile, as well as in international galleries and institutional contexts.

He has received awards and institutional support, including the Ron Barceló Imperial / ARCO Madrid Prize together with L21 Gallery, the Visioni Future Award at SWAB Art Fair, and the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Chile). He has participated in residencies in Europe and Latin America. In 2024 he published his first monograph, “Whatever You Do, It Takes Time To Make Nothing”.
